HyNet North West is the world’s first low carbon industrial cluster and is being developed in west Cheshire. The project has a critical role in the global fight against climate change and is essential for rapidly transforming the borough into a low carbon place to live and work.
The project will produce low-carbon hydrogen at the Stanlow Refinery, stored offshore in the Liverpool bay gas fields, and distributed within a pipeline to be used initially within our industry, and then increasingly for clean transport, and to heat our homes and businesses.
A consultation has been launched, running from 26 January 2022 to 11 March 2022. The consultation primarily relates to plans for a below ground hydrogen pipeline with some hydrogen related above ground infrastructure (HAGI), and routing options within a route corridor for the pipeline of around 125 kilometres including the northern area of the authority.
The consultation is available at: The Consultation – HyNet North West Hydrogen Pipeline (hynethydrogenpipeline.co.uk)
There will be a consultation meeting in Whitley Village Hall Saturday 26th February 2022 from 10am – 2pm
