Minutes September 2024

Minutes of the Parish Council Meeting held on Wednesday 11th September 2024 at 7.45 at Little Leigh Village Hall.

Present: Councillors Dawson, Davenport, Brierley-Jones, & Christopher.  County Councillor Lynn Gibbon.

1.         APOLOGIES

Apologies were received from Councillors Antrobus, Morrell & Underdown.

2.         DECLARATION OF INTEREST

No Declarations of Interest were made.

3.         Report from CWaC

  • Councillor Gibbon urged members to have a look at the National Planning Policy Consultation as it may greatly affect the Parish and surrounding areas.
  • All current consultations could be found on the Cheshire West Website.
  • Plans for a Devolution with Cheshire East and Warrington were being looked into.
  • A reminder was given to report any issues within the parish on the Cheshire West Website portal.
  • Plans for the Hydrogen Pipeline were still ongoing.
  • A link would be sent to the Clerk for the Highways and Transportation Newsletter.

MATTERS ARISING

  • A533 Northwich Road – Road Issues / SID – The SID (from Preston On The Hill) was still in place although with some issues.  Costs for a permanent SID were still being looked at. 
  • Hedge opposite Tunnel Top – The Clerk asked Councillor Dawson for the Invoice for the cutting of the hedge.
  • Road repairs – Dutton Hollows – It was noted that repairs to footpath had been carried out. There did not seem to by any current drainage issues, but the situation would be monitored.
  • New meeting venue – Going forward the Parish Council Meetings would be held at Leigh Village Hall.  A block booking had been made for meetings until May 2025.  Councillor Davenport was thanked for his input into this matter.
  • Dones View Farm Barn Entrance – Nothing more to report. 
  • Folk Festival – Hope Farm – The Festival had been cancelled apparently due to lack of ticket sales.  It was hoped by the organisers that it would return next year.
  • New Laptop – The Clerk was still looking into this matter.
  • Visitors Book – This had been purchased.

8.         AOB

The Clerk was asked to contact the local PCSO to inform them that the location of the Parish Council had now moved.

Councillor Dawson informed the meeting that Sue Beesley from Bluebell Cottage Nursery had volunteered to look at the Land at the rear of Northwich Road with a view to establishing its viability to use.

Cheshire West had been contacted in connection with the excavation and removal of large amounts of sand on land within the parish.
